Noctum Granatum is a gothic cross stitch pattern built around one of nature’s prettiest little threats, a pomegranate split open to reveal something far less innocent. Part skull cross stitch, part botanical relic from the Underworld, it plays with that old Persephone contradiction, life packed inside death, sweetness hiding behind a bitter skin. The ornamental leaves and fruit give it the symmetry of an elegant cross stitch, while the skulls tucked inside pull it firmly into macabre cross stitch territory.
